Books and thought experiments

Short stories born from technology, philosophy and the questions that arise in everyday life.

Experimentos mentales brings together ideas born from my daily work as a software engineer and my background in philosophy. I work with systems, virtual environments and artificial intelligence; fiction lets me take those questions a little further.

El científico de los bloques

A story about curiosity, the limits of knowledge and the need to keep asking questions.

About the idea

The idea began while playing Minecraft with my son. After spending the day working with Docker containers, interfaces and virtual environments, that block-built world became a question: how far can someone go when they only know the rules of their own universe?

ELISA — Personas necesarias

A story about an assistant, the people we need and the way technology can learn to occupy a place in our lives.

About the idea

The title is a nod to ELIZA, one of the earliest conversational programs. My daily interaction with artificial intelligence led me to think about a difference we often overlook: these systems do not experience time as we do. From there, the story explores whether we can think about consciousness without making the human perspective the only measure.
